School officials took a gun from a student in West Islip High School on Monday morning and called police. The teenager, whose name was not released to the public, was arrested.
According to a report, Suffolk County police arrested the 17-year-old student at around 11:30 am on Monday, April 15th after he brought a revolver and ammunition to the school located at 1 Lions Path in West Islip.
The student was charged with 2nd degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds, all of which are felonies. The teen was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is to be arraigned youth court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
