Shooting Incident in Mount Sinai Leaves Man Injured

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Mount Sinai early this morning.

According to a police report sent to LITrueCrime.com, the incident took place in the parking lot of 164 Route 25A in Mount Sinai, where two men, who are known to each other, engaged in a dispute that escalated into violence.

The altercation culminated in one of the individuals firing a shot at the other at around 2 a.m. The victim, identified as a 35-year-old man, sustained injuries from the gunshot and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The severity of his injuries has not been disclosed.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the motives and the events leading up to the shooting.

Witnesses saw the area taped up and emergency vehicles in the parking lot as late as 5am on Tuesday morning.

The identity of the individuals involved has not been released, and details about the nature of their dispute remain undisclosed.
