Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Suspects in Debit Card Theft and Fraud

Suffolk County police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating individuals involved in a debit card theft and subsequent fraudulent purchases.

On May 10, around 12 p.m., a woman lost her debit card at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles office located at 2799 Route 112 in Medford. Shortly after, two men used the stolen card at two Walmart locations: 161 Centereach Mall in Centereach and 750 Route 25 in Middle Island. Additional unauthorized transactions were also reported.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, using the mobile app P3 Tips available on the App Store or Google Play, or visiting www.P3Tips.com.
