SOUTHAMPTON, NY – The New York State Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a fraudulent purchase at Shinnecock Hardware in Southampton.
On March 5, 2024, at approximately 1:20 p.m., Troopers responded to a report of a fraudulent purchase at Shinnecock Hardware, located in the Town of Southampton. According to the report, an unknown individual entered the store and fraudulently purchased items totaling approximately $474.58.
The suspect is described as a heavyset black male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall. Authorities have not released additional details about the suspect or the fraudulent transaction but are urging anyone who may recognize this individual to come forward.
