Two women were arrested following a raid on the Sunshine Wellness Center, a massage parlor in Middle Island, on Friday, June 21, 2024. Suffolk County Police officers and the Town of Brookhaven conducted the investigation at 1569 Rocky Point Road, leading to the arrest of Juhau Gao, 38, and Qeng Yen, 34, both from Flushing.
The women were charged with unauthorized practice of a profession, a felony, and prostitution, a misdemeanor.
The Town of Brookhaven Building Inspector and Fire Marshal issued several violations and condemned the location. Both suspects were issued Desk Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
Authorities urge the public to remember that a criminal charge is an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
