A Fourth of July crackdown on illegal fireworks sales in Inwood led to the arrest of a Plainview man, exposing a cache of dangerous explosives being sold at a local discount store.
The Fourth Precinct POP Unit (Problem Oriented Policing) conducted an investigation at a Discount Store located at 581 Burnside Avenue, suspecting it of illegal fireworks sales. Officers discovered the illegal fireworks for sale and promptly arrested Cheng Wu Wang, 49, without incident. The Nassau County Police Department seized the fireworks as evidence.
Cheng Wu Wang has been charged with Unlawfully Selling Fireworks and was issued an Appearance Ticket at the scene. The Nassau County Police Department continues to enforce strict measures against the illegal sale and use of fireworks to ensure community safety.
