Stabbing at Adventureland Leaves a Man Critically Injured, Arrest Made

A day of fun turned into a nightmare at Adventureland in East Farmingdale on Sunday when a man was brutally stabbed during a heated altercation, leaving him in critical condition.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. when Daniel Tomasky, 42, of Shirley, allegedly stabbed his acquaintance, James Burns, 47, of Edgewater, Florida, in the abdomen. The dispute, which involved several people, erupted in the crowded park, and at least one child witnessed the horrifying scene.

Burns was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The violent outburst shocked park-goers and brought a swift response from Suffolk County Police, who arrested Tomasky at the scene.

Tomasky faces a slew of charges, including Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He is currently being held at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
