An East Meadow woman was arrested on Thursday evening after allegedly attacking a nurse at Nassau University Medical Center. The incident occurred on July 11, 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM.
According to detectives, officers responded to a call at the hospital located at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike, where they found a female victim, a 45-year-old registered nurse, who had been assaulted while performing her duties. The nurse was caring for April Gologorsky, 47, of 405 Bellmore Road, when Gologorsky became agitated and struck the nurse in the face with a closed fist. The attack broke the nurse’s glasses, caused a laceration to her face, and inflicted substantial pain.
Officers arrested Gologorsky without incident at the scene. She has been charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree. Due to her medical condition, she will be arraigned when medically practical.
The Nassau County Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
