Patchogue, NY – A Medford man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a hit-and-run crash early this morning left a 13-year-old e-bike operator seriously injured, Suffolk County Police said in a statement sent to litruecrimes.com.
Around 4:45 a.m., Laquimn Greene, 13, was riding his e-bike eastbound on East Main Street. An eastbound Audi struck Greene in front of 350 East Main Street and fled the scene. Greene, a resident of Wheatley Heights, was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital with severe injuries.
Following an investigation, police arrested Flavio Lituma, 53, of 2603 Knickerbocker Ave., Medford, at his home. Lituma has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Injury.
Lituma pled not guilty at court on July 22nd. He had his license suspended. Lituma was released without bail and is scheduled to appear again in court on July 26th, according to court records.
