Suffolk County Crime Blotter: Car Crash Apology, Stolen Honda, and Electric Toothbrush Heist in Suffolk County

Suffolk County has been hit by a series of crimes in recent days, with incidents ranging from a hit-and-run in Nesconset to grand larceny in Melville and petit larceny in Selden. Authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the individuals involved in these separate cases.

Nesconset Hit-and-Run

In a startling hit-and-run incident, a woman drove a blue Hyundai four-door sedan across the lawn of a Pierson Street home in Nesconset, striking a 2022 Ford parked in the driveway on July 28 around 7:25 p.m. The driver then approached the home’s security camera at the front door and apologized but did not leave her contact information or notify the police. The homeowner was not present at the time of the incident. Authorities are now seeking to identify and locate the woman involved in the crash. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers are asking for the public’s assistance.

Melville Grand Larceny

In Melville, a black Honda Accord was stolen from a Court North Drive home during the overnight hours of July 8 into July 9. The vehicle was discovered in Queens Village on July 26 at approximately 4:00 a.m. Authorities have not disclosed how the car was found but are keen to identify the individual who was in possession of the stolen vehicle. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Second Squad detectives are requesting the public’s help to locate and identify the suspect linked to the theft.

Selden Petit Larceny

On July 27 at approximately 4 p.m., a man stole an electric toothbrush valued at $150 from Target, located at 307 Independence Plaza in Selden. The suspect was seen taking the merchandise and exiting the store without paying. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are looking to the public for help in identifying and locating the thief involved in this retail theft.
