Nassau County Police are investigating the details of a murder suicide that occurred in Syosset on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 11:58 am.
According to detectives, police responded to Wyoming Avenue residence for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers saw a man outside the home who sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed that four other victims were also discovered inside the residence deceased.
All five victims were pronounced deceased by a Nassau County Police Medic. The investigation is ongoing.
Update 1
Newsday was the first to report that the residence is believed to be that of Theresa Martha DeLucia, 95, who passed away on August 19. DeLucia, a resident of Syosset, was buried at Calverton National Cemetery on Friday.
