Motorcyclist Critically Injured After Collision With SUV in Miller Place

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a serious crash involving an SUV on Route 25A in Miller Place, Suffolk County Police announced on Friday.

Scott Brown, 33, of Selden, was riding a 2016 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Route 25A when it struck the rear of a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse around 6:55 p.m. The SUV, driven by 50-year-old Jennifer Tako of Rocky Point, was traveling eastbound and attempting to turn left into Miller Place Plaza when the collision occurred.

Brown was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Tako and a passenger in the Chevrolet were transported to Mather Hospital with minor injuries.

Both the motorcycle and the SUV have been impounded for safety inspections as detectives from the Sixth Squad continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
