Two Arrested for Placing Skimming Devices at Nassau County Grocery Stores

Nassau County, NY – The Nassau County Police Department’s First Squad has reported the arrests of two individuals in connection with an incident on May 2, 2024, at 2:30 p.m.

The suspects, identified as Marius Adrian Dobre, 27, a non-resident from Romania, and Paul Mihaita Tudor, 30, of 6071 Fresh Pond Road, Ridgewood, were apprehended following an investigation. The investigation revealed that both individuals had placed skimming devices on credit card terminals at multiple grocery stores in the area.

Fortunately all the skimming devices were recovered before any sensitive information could be compromised.

Dobre faces charges including Unlawful Possession of a Skimming Device, Scheme to Defraud, and 14 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. Tudor is charged with 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Skimming Device and 2 counts of Scheme to Defraud.

Both defendants were scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the First District Court located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
