Violent Home Invasion in Franklin Square, Two Women Arrested for Brutal Burglary

FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY – Early Sunday morning, Nassau County Police arrested two women after they forcibly entered a Park Lane residence and assaulted the homeowner. The incident occurred at 1:10 a.m. when a 30-year-old woman, lying down in her basement, noticed a light shining through the window and heard aggressive knocking at the basement door.

Ashley Dunn, 27, of North Bellmore, and Kelly Walsh, 27, of Denville, New Jersey, entered the residence without permission and attacked the victim, pulling her hair, and repeatedly punching and slapping her. The victim sustained injuries to her head, neck, and chest but refused medical treatment. Police arrested Dunn and Walsh at the scene without further incident.

There was no motive given for the attack and it was not disclosed if the victim was known to Dunn and Walsh.

Both women are charged with Burglary and were arraigned on Sunday, June 16th, at First District Court in Hempstead. According to court records, Dunn and Walsh both had a temporary order of protection issued against them. They both pled not guilty and were released without bail. Dunn and Walsh are expected back in Nassau County Court in Mineola on June 27th.
