Alleged Copper Wire Thieves Arrested in Jericho

Two employees of Getty Terminal Corp. at 125 Jericho Turnpike in Jericho have been arrested for the alleged theft of copper wire, following an incident that took place between May 15 and May 16, 2024.

NCPD detectives determined that a substantial amount of copper wire had been stolen from the premises. Following an investigation, officers identified two employees, Carlos Hernandez, 35, of Bellerose, and Hugo Ayala, 23, of Malverne, as the culprits behind the theft.

Hernandez and Ayala were apprehended without incident and have been charged with Burglary and Grand Larceny. The charges reflect the serious nature of the crime, considering the significant value of the stolen copper wire.

The two defendants are scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, May 17, 2024, at First District Court in Hempstead.
