Brooklyn Man Arrested for Manhasset Carjacking

Manhasset, NY – Nassau Police reported the arrest of a Brooklyn man for a carjacking incident that occurred on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 5:25 pm in Manhasset.

According to detectives, the victim, a 48-year-old female, was in the process of parking her 2024 Mercedes Benz at a parking lot located at 981 Northern Boulevard when she encountered two unknown male suspects. The men forcibly pulled the victim out of her vehicle, causing her to fall to the ground, and then threatened her with a firearm. After taking the car key from her, one of the suspects got into her Mercedes, while the other entered an Acura sedan driven by a third male accomplice.

Both vehicles then fled westbound on Northern Boulevard.

Following a thorough investigation, detectives apprehended Brian Perales, 22, of 2950 West 33rd Street, in connection with the carjacking. Perales faces charges of Robbery and was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead.
