Man Arrested for Exposing Himself at Roosevelt Field Mall

A Hempstead man was arrested for public lewdness after a disturbing incident at Roosevelt Field Mall in East Garden City on Thursday morning.

On May 16, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Irvin Acevedo Ayala, 27, of 199 Stewart Avenue, approached a 62-year-old woman in the mall’s food court. Ayala exposed himself and touched his genitals in front of the shocked victim.

The victim immediately reported the incident to mall security, who contacted the Nassau County Police Department. Officers quickly responded and conducted a thorough investigation. Ayala was located nearby and arrested without incident.

Ayala has been charged with one count of Public Lewdness. He is scheduled for arraignment on Friday, May 17, 2024, at First District Court in Hempstead.
