Man Arrested Twice in Six Days for Illegally Selling Cannabis Products

Qazi Siddique, an employee of Convenience 12-12 Smoke Shop located at 900 Wheeler Road in Hauppauge, was arrested twice within a six-day period for illegal cannabis sales – May 2nd and May 8th, 2024.

Suffolk County Police, in collaboration with Narcotics Section detectives and Anti-Crime and Community Support Unit officers, conducted an investigation into illicit cannabis sales, inspecting seven businesses for legal compliance. Violations were discovered at Convenience 12-12 Smoke Shop, leading to Siddique’s arrest and the seizure of significant quantities of flavored vape products.

The charges against Siddique include Unlawful Sale of Cannabis and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child, reflecting his alleged involvement in selling cannabis products without a license and to a minor. Additionally, the smoke shop received multiple fire and building code violations, resulting in its closure by the Town of Islip Fire Marshal.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant, in this case, Qazi Siddique, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Siddique, aged 30 and hailing from Valley Stream, is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
