Maryland Man Arrested for Jumping Fence During ICC World Cup 2024

A Maryland man was arrested for criminal trespassing after an audacious breach of security at the ICC World Cup 2024 event held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow on Saturday, June 1st.

At around 1:00 p.m., Nassau County police units patrolling the Cricket World Cup event observed Ashwin Godker, 31, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, jumping over a fence and entering the playing field without permission. Godker proceeded to run towards the players, causing a brief disruption.

Nassau County police officers swiftly intervened and placed Godker into custody without incident. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Godker is charged with Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree.
