Pedestrian Killed in Ronkonkoma Hit-and-Run Identified; Police Seek Dark-Colored Toyota Prius

RONKONKOMA, NY – Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives have identified the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Ronkonkoma on May 20 as a dark-colored Toyota Prius.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Monday, May 20, at the intersection of Ronkonkoma Avenue and Third Street. Elyse Crivaro, 21, of Holbrook, was struck while she was in the roadway by a car traveling southbound on Ronkonkoma Avenue. The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Crivaro was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
