Police Arrest 42-Year-Old Patchogue Man For Making Threats Against Long Island School

Suffolk County Police arrested a man on Thursday following a terrifying threat of mass harm targeting a local school. The 42-year-old Patchogue man was apprehended after making threatening calls to Half Hollow Hills East High School in Dix Hills on April 9th.

According to authorities, the suspect’s calls to the school located at 50 Vanderbilt Parkway included threats of both shooting and detonation, prompting action from law enforcement. Second Precinct Crime Section officers took the man into custody near his residence around 3:40pm without incident.

The suspect faces charges of Making a Threat of Mass Harm, classified as a Class B Misdemeanor. He is set to appear for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on April 12.
