Police Arrest Second Driver in Pedestrian Hit-And-Run Death, Hit By Two Vehicles While Crossing Wicks Road in Brentwood

On Monday April 15th at about 5am, a woman was crossing Wicks Road in Brentwood when she was struck by a 2020 Toyota Highlander heading south. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. As the unidentified victim was lying in the road, a second vehicle, a 2004 Honda, also hit her. That driver left the scene as well.

The woman was transported by ambulance to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where she was pronounced dead.

Later that morning at around 11:00 am, Suffolk County police arrested the driver of the 2020 Toyota Highlander, a 59-year-old Brentwood man, for fleeing the scene. He was the driver of the first vehicle to hit the female victim.

On Tuesday, police arrested the second driver (of the 2004 Honda), a 28-year-old man also from Brentwood. The man is charged with leaving the scene after he hit the woman who was already laying in the road.

Both men were charged with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death.
