Reports: Pro-ISIS Group Threatens Long Island Cricket Stadium Hosting World Cup

A pro-ISIS group has posted a threatening message featuring Long Island’s Eisenhower Stadium, set to host the ICC World Cup 2024 next month. The image, shared on social media, shows drones flying above the stadium with a message urging violence at the June 9th game between India and Pakistan.

Nassau County is gearing up to host part of the Cricket Twenty20 World Cup. Starting this weekend, the temporary venue at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow will welcome some of the world’s top cricket players as the tournament kicks off.

Law enforcement officials, including the FBI’s Nassau County office, NYPD, and other local agencies, are ramping up security measures in response. Despite the ominous message, authorities stress there is no evidence of a specific plot or credible threat against the stadium.

The stadium is a new 34,000-seater venue. Officials believe the pro-ISIS propaganda aims to incite chaos and violence, even without a specific plan in place.
